Frequently asked questions
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we welcome new patients of all ages, adults and children. Fill in the appointment form or call 450 583-6202.
How do I book an appointment?
Fill in the online form in 30 seconds or call 450 583-6202. Reception calls you back to set a time that suits you, usually within one business day.
Do you see emergencies?
Yes. Call as soon as we open: we keep time for emergencies and do everything we can to see you the same day.
Do you bill insurance directly?
Yes, we send your claim to most insurers so you only pay the uncovered portion.
Do you accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
Yes. Bring your Sun Life member card to your visit.
Where are you located?
At 4 montée Calixa-Lavallée in Verchères, near Route 132. Free parking on site.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Closed on weekends.
Do you speak English?
Yes, we serve patients in French and English.
How often do I need an exam?
For most adults, every six to twelve months. Your dentist will tell you what suits your situation.
Does scaling hurt?
Most patients feel only mild sensitivity. Tell your hygienist: we can adjust the technique or use a numbing gel.
What if a tooth is knocked out?
Hold it by the crown, not the root. Rinse it briefly, put it back if you can or keep it in milk, and call right away.
What should I do after hours?
Call Info-Santé at 811. If swelling makes it hard to breathe or swallow, go to the hospital emergency room.
Are white fillings strong?
Yes. Today’s composites suit most teeth, molars included, and bond to the tooth.
How long does a crown last?
With good hygiene and regular exams, a crown often lasts many years.
How long does it take to get used to dentures?
Usually a few weeks. We make the adjustments you need during that time.
Can loose dentures be stabilised?
Yes, with a reline or by anchoring them on two or more implants.
Does a root canal hurt?
It is done under local anaesthetic and feels much like a filling. It relieves the pain caused by the infection.
Do I need a crown afterwards?
Often for a molar, since a treated tooth becomes more fragile. Your dentist will advise you.
Do wisdom teeth always need to come out?
No. We remove them when they cause, or are likely to cause, a problem. The X-ray helps decide.
I am very anxious. What can I do?
Tell us when you call. We take time to explain each step and adjust the pace.
Can anyone get an implant?
Most healthy adults, yes. A bone and health assessment confirms it.
Are implants covered by insurance?
Some plans cover part of the cost. We help you request a pre-determination.
Is Invisalign suitable for teenagers?
Yes, in many cases. The exam confirms it.
Can I eat with aligners in?
Take them out to eat or drink anything but water, then brush before putting them back.
Does whitening damage teeth?
Done under supervision with suitable products, it is safe. Temporary sensitivity can occur.
Does whitening change the colour of crowns?
No. Fillings and crowns keep their shade; we plan around them.
What does the RAMQ cover?
For children under 10, the RAMQ covers the exam, X-rays and most fillings, among others. Cleaning and fluoride are not covered.
My child is afraid of the dentist. What can we do?
Mention it when you book. We plan extra time and move at your child’s pace.
